Calculadora de Aposentadoria
Projete seu saldo de poupança para aposentadoria a partir de um saldo atual e contribuições mensais.
What is a Calculadora de Aposentadoria?
Projects a retirement account balance by growing both your existing balance and every future monthly contribution at an assumed rate of return, compounded monthly — the same future-value-of-annuity math behind most retirement-planning tools, useful for seeing how much of an eventual balance actually came from investment growth versus your own contributions.
How to use the Calculadora de Aposentadoria
- Enter your current balance, monthly contribution, expected annual return, and years until retirement
- Press Calculate
- Your projected balance, total contributions, and total growth appear instantly, calculated on your device
Formula
Balance = CurrentBalance × (1+r)ⁿ + Contribution × (((1+r)ⁿ − 1) ÷ r), where r = monthly return rate, n = months
The existing balance and each future contribution both grow at the assumed monthly return rate, compounded monthly, over the full projection period.
Example
Starting from $25,000 with $500/month contributions at an assumed 7% annual return over 30 years projects to roughly $637,000 — of which only about $205,000 came directly from contributions, meaning more than two-thirds of the final balance is investment growth.
Common mistakes
- Assuming a flat, optimistic annual return for the entire multi-decade projection — real returns vary significantly year to year.
- Reading the projected balance as today's purchasing power — it's a nominal figure that doesn't subtract for inflation between now and retirement.
- Forgetting employer matching contributions, if any, aren't added automatically — include them in the monthly contribution figure if they apply.
Frequently asked questions
What rate of return should I assume for retirement planning?
A commonly used long-run assumption for a diversified stock-heavy portfolio is around 6–8% annually before inflation, though actual returns vary significantly year to year and by asset allocation — many planners use a more conservative figure for safety margin.
Does the projected balance account for inflation?
No — the projected balance is in nominal (today's-dollar-value-ignoring) terms. See Inflation Calculator to separately estimate how much purchasing power that future balance will have lost by the time you reach it.
Should I include employer match in my monthly contribution?
Yes, if you want the projection to reflect it — add your own contribution plus any employer match together into the single monthly contribution field, since this tool doesn't have a separate field for matching funds.
How often should I revisit this projection?
Whenever your contribution amount, balance, or assumed return changes meaningfully — an annual check-in is a reasonable cadence for most people, adjusting the inputs to reflect actual account growth and any change in how much you're contributing.
