What is a Modifier un PDF?
This adds new text, boxes, highlights, lines, and arrows directly onto a PDF's pages without altering what's already there — useful for annotating a contract with a note before forwarding it, filling in a blank on a form that has no fillable fields, circling a figure and pointing an arrow at it, or labeling a diagram in a scanned document. Anything you place can be dragged to a new spot or removed before you download.
How to use the Modifier un PDF
- Add a PDF file, choose text, box, highlight, line, or arrow, and a color
- Click or drag on the page to place it — drag anything already placed to move it
- Download the edited PDF — the original content stays untouched underneath
Example
Clicking near a blank signature line and typing "Approved — J. Lee, 03/12" in red, then drawing a yellow highlight box over the clause above it, places both exactly there, saved as part of the page, while the rest of the document stays exactly as it was.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No — Modifier un PDF runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript/WebAssembly. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
Free use covers files up to 100MB per file; signing up for Pro raises that to 500MB.
Can I edit text that's already in the PDF, not just add new text?
No — this adds new text and shapes on top of the page; it doesn't let you select and modify the PDF's existing text content. For that you'd need the original source file that generated the PDF.
Will I lose my edits if I accidentally close the tab before downloading?
No — edits autosave to this browser as you work, so reopening the tool with the same file picks up roughly where you left off.
Can I change the font size or color of text I add?
Yes — pick one of 5 colors and one of 3 sizes (S/M/L) before you place a text box. Every other shape you add uses the same color palette.
What shapes and annotations can I add, besides text?
A box outline, a translucent highlight, a straight line, or an arrow — each is a separate tool in the panel, drawn by dragging on the page.
Can I move something after I've already placed it?
Yes — drag any text, box, highlight, line, or arrow already on the page to reposition it, regardless of which tool is currently selected. Use the Remove button in the list on the right to delete one instead.
