Text to Speech

Have any text read aloud using your browser's built-in voices.

🔒 Processed on your device

Your browser doesn't support speech synthesis. Try the latest Chrome, Edge, or Safari.

Reads any text aloud using the voices already installed on your device through the browser's built-in speech synthesis — no account, no audio upload, and no server-side text-to-speech engine involved.

Example: Pasting a short paragraph and pressing Play reads it aloud in your operating system's default voice at 1x speed, adjustable before or during playback.

How it works

  1. Type or paste the text
  2. Pick a voice and speed
  3. Press Play to hear it read aloud, using your device's own voices

Frequently asked questions

Can I download the speech as an audio file?

Not yet — this plays audio live through your browser's built-in voices. Screen-recording your device's audio output is the closest workaround today.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No — Text to Speech runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript/WebAssembly. Your text is never sent to a server.

Why do the available voices look different on my phone versus my laptop?

The voice list comes from your operating system and browser, not from this site — so it varies by device the same way it would in any other app using system text-to-speech, like a screen reader.
